Most people are familiar, through science fiction films, with the concept of speech recognition.  Unfortunately current software, although impressively fast and accurate, has not yet reached the total infallibility of its film counterparts in Star Trek or 2001: A Space Odyssey.

With appropriate hardware you can potentially dictate reports, memos and other documents; enter data into spreadsheets; fill in forms; send e-mail - all by voice at speeds of up to 160 words/minute. Using an approved handheld recorder you can also work away from the PC and allow the software to automatically transcribe the dictation at a later date.

To achieve maximum accuracy good diction and dictation skills are also important. The training we offer includes guidance on these aspects of using speech recognition software.
